To implement the goals and objectives of the project, the concept and, indeed, institution, of B-in-EU Ambassadors was created to facilitate student engagement in the project. Beneath you will find a list of some of B-in-EU Ambassadors and their thoughts on B-in-EU and the European Union (note that it is work in progress and this page will be updated regularly).
THEONI TSINONIS B-in-EU not only has taught me about the different opportunities in terms of education and business the EU provides to its citizens, but it also engaged me hands on with real projects. Through B-in-EU, I conducted academic research and wrote a chapter of the book, “The Future of Innovation and Technology in Education”. This experience engaged me hands on with different editors where I learned new skills and applied them to my professional life. Before B-in-EU, the EU to me was simply a union where neighboring countries had the same currency, now I have realized the EU model is a completely new market, where member states are EU citizens and citizens of their own nation.Theoni Tsinonis is a Senior Student, Majoring in Marketing and International Business, Deree College – The American College of Greece
KONSTATNINOS SKIRLIS For me, the European Union is the fundamental pillar keeping EU member states united under the common goal of prosperity for EU citizens. B-in-EU is the mean which provides me the experience of being connected with current developments in the EU and to engage more actively with the future of the EU.Konstantinos Skirlis is a Graduate Student, majoring in International Business, Deree College – The American College of Greece, with long experience in the tourism industry.
ANNA MARIA TAVANLI The European Union means peace and stability to me. The EU has managed to work as a facilitator of everyday life of millions of Europeans. Studying International Business made me realize that business transactions within the EU are easier to handle and due to the European Singe Market, companies can achieve greater business efficiency.Anna Maria Tavanli, is a Senior Student, majoring in International Business, Deree College – The American College of Greece
DIMITRIS ANAGNOSTOPOULOS Europe is a project created by European governments, i.e. by the people and for the people. It would not work if the EU citizens had no idea of what the EU was about. The EU is a common market that benefits its citizens, including EU businesses, across the EU. Over the years, the EU has established itself as the most important global actor. Thus, the significance of the EU in our lives cannot be underestimated.Dimitris Anagnostopoulos is a Graduate Student, majoring in International Business, President of the International Business Society (2017-2018), Deree College – The American College of Greece
NIKOLAOS VADIVOULIS As Jean Monnet said, “There is no future for the people of Europe other than in Union.” The EU represents one of the greatest experiments in political history. Beside the fact that Europe is full of diverse cultures, rich in ideas, the nations of the EU share common values. They are among the forefront in defending human rights, democracy and the rule of law; they stand for market economies with a strong social safety net; they support just, pluralist, secular societies.Nikolaos Vadivoulis is a Senior Student, studying at Law School of Athens and minoring in International Business and European Affairs, Deree College – The American College of Greece
B-in-EU is the best answer to that challenge. It is designed to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of EU studies and foster the dialogue between the academic world and policy-makers. Personally, I had the opportunity to discover the role of the EU in a globalized world by contributing to an active European citizenship and dialogue between people and cultures.
